Yeah Al, the stem is vulcanite, although I wouldn't have minded if it was licorice, cause I like licorice...
cobguy, your 811ks looks like the same pipe only with a saddle stem, very nice!

Nice, that must be an older one. Savinelli switched to acrylic, filter stems in the mid 90's if memory serves.

It's strange on Ebay sometimes no one bids. One I got recently pics and description were rubbish I was the only bidder and turned out to be a a great pipe.

My greatest Ebay score was one of my first.
a 1938 Kaywoodie Bulldog w/ carburetor in 90% condition. I got the crud out of the carb, and re-clocked the stem, and it was 100%, minus a bit of dull. I sent it to Ed James a year or two ago, and he gave it the once over clean and polish, and it it looked even more brand new.

I just went on Ebay. Bought a lot of 4 Kaywoodies.
The lot included the same shape pipe. A 12B. Saddle Bulldog.
Weird.
It also had no bids, and down to the 3 minute mark.
