I was listening to my LP of the Amnesty International "Secret Policeman's Ball" from 1979, and I found a YouTube of the three amazing acoustic performances by Pete Townsend of "Pinball Wizard," Drowned," and "Won't Get Fooled Again." The last tune has John Williams as second guitar. If you've never heard this, I think you'll be blown away.

Stop Making Sense - love that recording! Two of my all time favorites songs period are on that - Life During Wartime and Burning Down the House.
I just finished mowing and enjoy the new Jason Isbell & The 400 CD - "The Nashville Sound". It is quite good.

Jay... Hawkwind is in my top three... If I were forced to get a tattoo of a band... It would be Hawkwind... or perhaps a big blue Stacia...
Check out Acid Mother's Temple's "Pink Lady Lemonade" or "Dark Star Blues' or " La Novia." --- definitely the band most inspired by Hawkwind... According to Julian Cope...
Now, I am listening to Nick Cave's Abattoir Blues /. The Lyre of Orpheus having my morning bowl of GL Pease's Cairo.

I remember bringing this LP home from the record store, turning on the McIntosh, plugging in the Sennheiser 414s, and cranking it to 11. It damn-near blew me away. This early 70s German group influenced a lot of musicians, think Eno, Bowie, Ultravox, Radiohead. Here's one of the best tracks from NEU!, "Hallogallo"
