If you're shopping in the $85 to $120 range, look carefully at Luciano pipes. The best
selection right now, so far as I have seen, is at smokingpipes.com. I'm always looking
for pipes that are a step above their price range. It's design and finish where these pipes
excel. I am recently breaking in both a smooth author 1/8 bent, and a sandblast
billiard straight with a saddle stem, and they are first rate. Precisely drilled, smooth
drawing, moderate weight, good balance, traditional design without looking stogy.
These will live in close harmony with your Savenellis and Petersons. I'd recommend
these as a good first mid-level pipe for relatively new pipe smokers too.
