Cream's Farewell concert at Madison Square Garden in about 1967. My first concert but a great memory. Saw Steely Dan several times and they're always great.

In no particular order:

1) concert for te opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (The E Street Band backed up Johnny Cash; wow).

2) The Black Crowes at a small club in Detroit (my hearing hasn't been the same since...)

3) Ryan Adams

4) VanHalen (I partied with the band backstage, I rode with Michael Anthony's family to the show and went back to his house after the show. Met some amazing musicians, got to be a part of their pre-concert prayer circle, and did shots with Sammy Haggar. A pretty amazing night to say the least.)

5) Marc Ford and friends. This was a small gig at a club in L.A. Only about 25 people there. Very intimate. Some members of the Driveby Truckers played as well. This was the night that Ryan Bingham was discovered. I was in awe of this little cowboy with a raspy voice. Marc Ford liked him so much that he got him a record deal within months)

My top 5...
1. Slayer '91 and again in '95

2. KISS '96

3. Iron Maiden '05

4. Metallica '92

5. Danzig '94
Honorable mention: Ozzy and Rob Zombie both put on great shows. I saw Avenged Sevenfold in '06 and again in '07. They kicked ass too.
Worst: Sadly, it was Aerosmith. I saw them back in 1993 and we left half way through it. The band just didn't seem to be into it and I don't think the atmosphere helped the experience. It was at an ampitheater here in Denver and they went on at 4:30 in the afternoon so it was still daylight out (summertime). We had the cheapie tickets, sittin on the lawn way in the back and people were playing hackysack and having picnics, drinking wine... It just wasnt a "rock" concert vibe and the show sucked as a result.

I was half asleep when I posted my list. I have to include: Sting, Brand New Day Tour
It was an awesome three-hour concert. He played his songs and Police tunes. As I was still in college, I had to pay for the cheap seats, but they over-printed tickets. Therefore, my seat didn't exist. Concerned that I was out some money, I asked for the head usher, who got permission to put me and my bud on the front row.
So I got to watch Sting, sit with the rich folks, sipping on expensive brandy that evening. What a night.

I've only been to two concerts (one was actually a festival) and they were great!
#1 2012 - Motley Crue/KISS

#2 2010 - Mayhem Fest
Motley Crue & KISS were fantastic.
Now Mayhem Fest... That was just ridiculous. A lot of really HEAVY Metal bands.
Band list:
Main Stage:

Korn (Horrid)

Rob Zombie (AMAZING)

Lamb of God (One of my all time favorite bands)

Five Finger Death Punch (Pretty damn good)
Stage 1:

Atreyu

Norma Jean

In This Moment

3 Inches of Blood
Stage 2:

Hatebreed

Chimaira

Shadows Fall

Winds of Plague
The Heavy Metal festival was the first concert thing I've ever been to, and well.. as much as I love that music, I don't know if I'll ever go to something with such an intense crowd again.

Pantera, early 90s, just before they released Vulgar, in a dump in Nashville called Club 1000. Amazing show.

Rush, three times in the 90s. Roll, Counterparts, Test. Great show every single time.

Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, God Forbid, Municipal Waste. House of Blues, Myrtle Beach. Place was packed, everyone was moving.

Triumph, late 80s, Sport of Kings tour in Nashville. They totally rocked it.

Queensryche, early 90s, Empire tour. The whole show was great, but the whole Mindcrime set was amazing.

Now Guitarguy86, you brought up Gilman Street....That used to be my home away from home growing up...saw many punk bands there in the late 80's-Early 90's
