Tin Storage Idea

I'm sure some of you already thought of this. But, if you're running out of room like me and need a cheap solution to still display your tins, the magnetic strips for tools or kitchen knives works great. Just thought I'd share, maybe it will be beneficial to someone.

Here's a pic of the inside of my pipe cabinets top shelf so you can see how it looks and if it's something you'd like. Note it easily holds a 1.75 tin, but it would not hold my 3.5 tin. So the cut off is somewhere in between. And the tins on top are not balancing, they are holding on to the magnet. I plan to buy more strips.

For what it's worth.... don't buy magnetic strips by mail. Go to a store and check out how powerful the magnets are. They are not all the same. I learned this the hard way years ago.

I have a couple of these magnetic knife strips too. I bought mine at Harbor Freight...really affordable.

I have a big piece of exposed ductwork in the basement. I might have to magnet my empties onto it.

Very common for people to do this until they realize they aren't putting up a lot of tins. Stacking is the only thing that lets you really pile the tins on.

I won't do it, but a wacky idea would be to put the magnetic strip on the ceiling and access the tins with a reacher.

You're right. I'm keeping them on display easy to access. But I have a container full of what I like and just replace them in the cabinet as I smoke um.
