Tin Opening - Seven Yr. Old Squadron Leader (Pic Heavy)

My gracious Secret Santa sent me this and since I love Squadron Leader and had a New to Me Savinelli Pot to break in the timing seemed right.
The tin has some corrosion but the seal held. It wasn't as wet as other SL tins I've opened so maybe a little compromise was rearing its head.

Ivd never tried squadron leader, but I am guessing that the 7 year version is fantastic, congrats and enjoy.

I have some around the same age. Now I'm feeling the urge to go light some up. How did it smoke?

I opened a tin of Golden Glow from 2011 a couple weeks ago and it had the exact same corrosion.

It smoked great. Mellower than normal SL, it didn't taste as spicey. I really enjoyed it. This is exactly why I smoke blends with Orientals in a Pot shape. Smooooth.

Ruh-roh. I've got a number of unopened SG tins going back to 2004. I guess I'll find out.

Brian, that's actually one of the reasons I posted the tin corners. Grateful it was a good tin, but cautionary tale of aged tins.

The ones I have were stored in vacuum sealed bags as well, so anything is possible with older tins.
