Beautiful briar, but the cap assembly bears an unfortunate resemblance to a toilet bowl cover.

For what this pipe is going to sell for it will be one very expensive toilet seat doppleganger. Beautiful briar.

It's Kermit! I've only tried FM Cellar. I think the best smoke I've had of it was in my Mark Twain cob.

My perfect leaf and briar pairing in recent memory is Semois in a Ferndown from a generous Forums member.

This is a bent billiard with a notably deep bowl. For English Lat blends, I like a straight billiard, although the

Ferndown might do those nicely as well.

You could probably buy a lifetime's supply of Frog Morton for what that pipe is going to go for. I don't follow collectible Dunhill prices closely, but that's clearly an extraordinary piece. Over-under at... $2500?

It's not unusual for a Dunhill pipe to sell for a comparable price. smokingpipes has a Dunhill on sale now for $2565.00. It's a very pretty pipe but the price is way out of line, something only that the wealthy could afford. Even if I had the money, I would object and probably not buy it. Those that conspicuously consume cross a line, I think. I'm sure they get some satisfaction from it, but materiality doth not happiness make. I'm not sure that any scripture or thoughtful account by any writer supports the sensory satisfaction this pipe would allow.

Needless to say, you could get four or five high end pipes for the same money (assuming it goes

for 2,500$. For a gold frog toilet seat? I like the gold frog. I like the Dunhill pipe under it. I just

don't see joining the two as particularly artful or commendable. Let me see ... I'd get a Castello,

a Ser Jacopo, and a Becker, and a Radice and shipping. And if the war chest didn't quite stretch

that far, I'd put the Radice back on my dream list.

I figured it might go for $3500, wasn't off by too much.

Holy-hedgefund Mama. The stacks of hundreds are weighing down the rear suspension on his Bentley.

As far as I'm concerned, the perfect pipe for Frog Morton is someone else's.
