I know we have probably talked this to death but I wanted to put it all in one place. I am primarily an aormatic smoker and I know many here smoke mostly one genre of blends. I have been moving into other genres but have been wondering if I am smoking the standards or trying the outlyers. So if you all could give the standards of each genre it would be great. I think three of each would be good.
Aromatic

Virginia

VA/Per

VA/Bur

English (Don't know the major groups here, so there may be more to list.)

Burley

Cavendish
What I am comfortable to list.
Aromatics - 1Q, Mac Barren Vanilla Flake, Peterson Connoisseurs Choice

I can't help much with aromatics or Cavendish blends, but here are some standards worth trying.

Solani 633

SG St. James Flake
VA/Bur:

GLP Jacknife Plug

GH Brown Flake Unscented

Peterson's Irish Flake
English:

Lakelands (British tobaccos from Samuel Gawith and Gawith & Hoggarth, heavily flavored/scented with flowers, fruits and/or tropical essences):

GH Ennerdale

GH Kendal Flake

SG 1792 Flake

Classic British Flakes (cool-burning, lightly scented VA and burley flakes -- the British equivalent to drugstore blends like Carter Hall and Prince Albert):

Condor

While not in your original post, I have to offer up one of my favorite examples.
Va/Per/Cavs

PS LBF

Rattray's Marlin Flake.
These two really range between the drier hay-like LBF to the sweeter heavier Marlin Flake and I think that makes them a good example of the possible range of the subfamily.
I've been really diving into Orientals and that opens up a huge font of tobaccos. You get your cedar-like, tangy Virginia/Orientals like McCelland does so well and then you can get your creamy smooth Virginia/Orientals that have a bit of latakia in them.

Here's three for each. I'm not much of an English smoker so my recommends there probably reflect only my tastes.
Aromatic: C&D Autumn Evening, Pipeworks & Wilke 191, Savinelli Cavendish
Virginia: Capstan Blue Flake, Dunhill Flake, Orlik Golden Sliced
VA/Per: Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake, GL Pease Fillmore, Escudo
VA/Bur: Peterson University Flake, Erinmore Flake, Peterson Irish Oak
English: Dunhill 965, Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding, Frog Morton on the Bayou
Burley: Mac Baren Burley London Blend, Mac Baren Golden Extra, H&H Angler's Dream
And I'll add a category called "hybrid": GL Pease Haddo's Delight, Two Friend's English Chocolate, Pipeworks & Wilke No. 5
