Stem Repair

Im looking for suggestions on stem repair. I dont think Ill be able to fix this to my own satisfaction, mostly because Im not exactly sure what was done, but I thought Id ask for suggestion on how to repair the stem. Ill probably wind up send the pipe to Briarville.

It almost looks like there was a hole in the stem that was repair with an acrylic plug?

The pipe is a Peterson Millennium, which I bought off of ebay, which I got hosed on. In my defense they seller didnt post any picture of the stem nor mention the hack stem repair job in the description. That being said, Im still the one who bought; buyer beware I suppose.

Thats from pipe cleaners wearing a hole at the bend, pretty common. I'd have new stem made for it.

A bloop of black superglue, most likely.
