I have a feeling it will give off a nice amber color.

Very possibly. It could give off a rich chestnut color which would be lovely.

I bought a Stanwell “Naturel” pipe…wait….let me go get it and I’ll take a snap of it for you….okay see the photos attached. I bought this pipe at RJ Clarke’s in Gastown, Vancouver. It was the same colour as the “Beechwood” pipe you linked above.

Over time, it’s become this colour. It’s darkened with so much ease compared to meerschaum. I would TOTALLY buy one of those Beechwood pipes and enjoy getting it coloured.
