Jeeze, tell me that these old U.S. factory pipes aren't beautiful. Sales depended on refined design, and the carvers and assembly line came through. These babies are time-tested and truly impressive.
The Linkman Factory Building built in 1922 is still there at 1150 Fullerton Ave in Chicago and you can check it out all around on googlemaps street view. It is in gorgeous restored shape pretty much as it was nearly 100 years ago. It still has the "M. Linkman & Co." proudly chiseled over the doorway and all the cool art deco facade. Today it houses the Lincoln Park Branch of the Chicago Public Library among other tenants such as DePaul's School of Art & Design and is just a stone's throw from the campus quad.
