Hi everyone, good morning and happy piping!
I live in alberta, where 50g tin of decent tobacco costs $60 canadian... our taxes are absurd.

I usually order from 4noggins.com (if I keep my order to 150g it seems to get through fine. If I order 200g or more I get slammed with taxes.)

There is a seller on kijiji who lives 1.5 hours from me selling 159g sealed jars of tobacco from 2010 (aged 14 yeare)

$75 dollars per jar. (About half the price of paying in store.)

1.) Are these good flavors?
2.) Which flavor do you recommend I get? Or flavors if I buy a few?

Attaching photos.

I dont know the tobacco, others will but make it a fun road trip. Do you like latakia...they are all lat blends.
I can't recall if I do.

The tobaccos I have now I don't enjoy much. Ones I've tried prior I've loved.

My go to blends

Becks limey bastard
Sherlock Holmes
Nightcap
Vertical limit
Gold rush

Those are OK blends. Maybe Atlas would benefit from age, but... how well do you know this person that is offe3ring this? Because I would never buy a jarred blend from anyone. $75 for something that you cannot with absolute certainty know that they were popping those jars from time to time, disrupting the aging process. I am not opposed to someone aging blends in jars; however, after years of hearing people arguing over popping jars in the aging process, I wouldn't trust a son of a gun farther than I could throw him.

That would have to be a HARD PASS for me. But... it's you time and money.

Latakia blends don't improve much with age. In fact, some would argue after 10 years, they start to become bland. I don't know that I agree with that but I don't care, I'm not A latakia fan.Drive 3 hours? I wouldn't walk across the street for it if they were giving it away. But that's just me.

Keep in mind, you're not just spending $75. At fifty cents per mile for fuel and vehicle wear and tear, you're spending more than double that.

I'd do it. Might meet a new friend. Getting out of town is nice. And all of those at slightly above retail is a steal (comparably).

I would pass on the jarred containers if you do not now the seller extremely well. These blends certainly are not what I think of when it comes to vintage blends.

Yeh, I imagine that you could find someone willing to be your friends every three hours of driving. Ha, I'm kidding, I'm kidding... I just made that up. Trying to be positive. puffy

On second thought, maybe it is someone who is just trying to attract a friend to drive to them. It could be someone worse than you. See, I made it even more positive.
