Shelock Holmes calabash

So looking at pulling the trigger on a Sherlock holmes calabash not a 300 dollar one but around 100 to 145 made made from wood .

Anyone have one ,how do you like it? Anything I should know or look out for

I haven't smoked a mahogany calabash, but I have examined a few. The chamber under the bowl isn't as large as in a gourd calabash, and the bowl inserts (as with many newer calabashes, including some gourds) are sometimes block meerschaum, other times pressed. I think the SMS brand wood calabashes may have block meerschaum inserts, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, I'm not sure how the draw would be, and how the bowl would pair up with the shank and stem. It could be good, but not necessarily. I'd like to hear from someone who's smoked this pipe or something like it. Along with jpm', I feel a little dubious. 'Could be good.
