The best thing to is to put the tobacco into a bowl, I use a large glass bowl, and cover it with a wet paper towel. Make sure is not dripping, but wet. Also it'll dry out quickly so replace or re-wet the towel regularly and it should bring the tobacco back to life - also when you re-wet the towel, give the tobacco a shuffle to make sure it all gets moist. Hope this helps!

Also, I have found it helpful to put the bowl, wet towel etc into a plastic bag. The high humidity produced that way reduces the time it takes.

I would read over these.
I posted pictures of my prefered method, but it's basically the towel over the bowl method. Modified.

I keep a covered metal box for the purpose. Put the open can in the box. Then put a piece of wet sponge in next to it (on a plastic tobacco can top or something similar). Close the box and wait 24 hours. Repeat if needed.

It's not complicated. Just get yourself a small empty spray bottle at the drug store in the cosmetic section and spray a bit of water on the underside of the airtight lid of your tobacco container and the tobacco will absorb it overnight. Don't spray water on the tobacco! Don't overdo it. You can always do it a again.

I put the open tobacco in a piece of closable tupperware with a wet piece of cloth or paper towel and wait a few hours, or overnight. The next day it's good as new.
edit: when I say "open tobacco" I mean an open tin or pouch.

I wet a paper towel, lay it over the top of the jar, and screw the lid on. Next morning, remove the paper towel, shake the baccy, re-wet the paper towel and repeat process. By night time, baccy is good to store again
