Greetings everyone,

I apologize if this has already been asked or discussed, but I have not been online in a while. I am currently working at pressing the tobacco I've grown this past season, and am working at creating a casing which will do two things: 1) prevent mold, and 2) not ruin the taste.

Does anyone have any proven recipes for casings that meet these criteria which I can apply just prior to pressing?

Thanks for any insight into this! It is much appreciated.

Hi Joe.

For flue-cured, I like:
50ml water
1 teaspoon honey
5-6 lemon drops

For burleys, dilluted molasses or liquorice works wonders.

But I have used these to correct issues with the tobacco, not for mold. For mold, storing in low case has always worked for me.
