I've been a Latakia fan since I started pipe smoking (whooping 3 years ago :D )

Lately I started looking towards blends with Virginia. Until now "go to" VA blends were Annie Kake & LBF.

So, here are the blends I ordered to expand my VA "horizon" :
McConnell - Scottish Cake, Scottish flake, Folded flake.
Rattray's - Marlin Flake, Hal O' The Wynd, Old Gowrie.
Wessex - Gold Brick, Gold Virginia Flake, Red Virginia Flake, Dark Flake.
Have I missed anything else I should try from those 3 makers?

That's a lot of good stuff. You'll just have to see what you like. Of that list, Hal o the Wynd is by far the punchiest. If you find the rattray's all a bit "big", but like the basic flavor profile, you might want some Brown Clunee at some point. But really, you have a nice mix of types and brands there, I'd smoke all that stuff happily. Scottish Flake is the secret "winner" - it's really incredible imho.

Scottish Cake Is a cross between Hal O The Wynd and Royal Yacht, IMHO. Sometimes I smoke HOTW and think I'm smoking Scottish Cake. Just something similar. Then sometimes I get a Royal Yacht vibe from Scottish cake.
