buster, that cake was the first of that kind I've made. It was really easy. The 12" cast iron skillet is your pan and you melt butter, stir in some brown sugar, lay out your pineapple and cherries, and top with the batter.
Baked for about an hour @ a high 350. My only problem was that the cake didn't fit any dish I had.
After I let it cool and it shrank back from the edge of the pan a little, I trimmed an even 1/2" all the way around the cake and pulled it out in sections/pieces for an early sample.
What was left fit perfectly on my cheapo plastic cake tray which has a dome cover.
I had intended to bring it to Easter dinner, but I never went anywhere. I'm stuck with the whole thing.
I don't have a dog, either. (no, no cat.)
