Nice work, looks good in green.
No, i have never tried shellac before, how does that work?
You can tint the shellac, makes a clear topcoat rather than stain. Green is a hard color for Briar to take, likely due to it's ruddy hue.

I have a weakness for that lovely grain, but it looks impressive in the deep, deep green. Well done.

So question for you on the green. I have done a couple of green stains as well and was over all quite pleased with them. The only issue I have had is about a year down the road on the inner edge of the bowl the green stain has faded away where the flame from my lighter tends to touch. Is that normal or did I do something wrong?
