OTC Aros

I would like to try some OTC baccy, but have a difficult time telling the difference between aros and english. Is there a simple way just looking at the packaging to tell the difference?

Most OTC blends (aka drugstore blends) are, in fact aromatic with few exceptions. That being said, always read everything on the packaging. If sealed properly, you will never smell what is inside. If you can smell it, don't buy it! Also, there are some of us old guys (age 63) around here that have smoked since the 1960's and can probably offer you some opinion of OTC blends that catch you interest. Then, there is www.tobaccoreviews.com. You can find reviews for all the old OTC blends there. I will say that if they have been around that long, many of them do have something to offer and have stood the test of time.

The OTC blends you will see are either aros or "codger burleys". As was mentioned above, Walnut is the only OTC blend in the States, and it is darned hard to find in any tobacconist. (E-tailers not included.)
