I recently picked up a tin of ODF, and I am completely amazed by this flake, it’s simply superb. So superb in fact that it has curbed my latikia binges over the last few weeks, haha.
The tin I picked up was dated 2013 and is the oldest tobacco I have smoked, so of course I want more. I was going to order a few tins but then I spotted the ready rub in bulk which is a bit cheaper. Aside from preparation I was wondering if there is much difference between the two versions, with regard to flavor and so forth?

Mr Pease addresses the difference between flake and ribbon cut tobaccos, in regards to aging, in his newest Ask GL Pease Article. It's a pretty good read.

Both do taste similar, but I actually prefer the flake form for its versaility. Ready rubbed can only be smoked like ribbon whereas the flakes can be folded, cubed, or rubbed depending on how you decide to smoke them.

I haven't tried the RR version only because I like playing with the flakes.
Also ... I love the 1 pound box with the flakes inside the gold foil.
You know that scene in Pulp Fiction where John Travolta opens the briefcase

and it emits a shining gold light? It's like that!

IMO DSK or HDF beats ODF.
Both are more rich with a sweetish flavor and have a superior aroma.
