I picked up this radice from SP with some Christmas money. This is one HUGE pipe! This is one of the more pronounced ring grains I've seen on a silk cut, and there sure is a lot of it on this pipe. This is also the first pipe I've purchased with plateau on it and I really like it.

The draft hole is pretty straight and even with the bottom of the bowl. You cannot tell from the pic but the opening is really tall. Maybe because the pipe is so large.

The draft hole is a little high in the shank, but it passes a large fluffy cleaner easily.

I can't wait to load it up and smoke all day!

That is a pretty pipe. Radice pipes are some of the best smokers for the money, in my view. Congrats and enjoy.

Oh yeah, and some new tobacco to break it in. C&D bayou morning, Odessa, Haunted bookshop, Espresso, Dunhill EMP, GLP Chelsea Morning, and McClelland Holiday spirit along with a lb of Mature Virginia

If you like the mature virginia you should stock up since it has been discontinued.
Thats exactly why I bought a l to try. Never had it before, but may grab another 1-2 if I like it.

I'm a huge fan of Radice's stains and shapes (with the exception of the underwood or underhill or whatever its called *gag*) I'm looking forward to a post about how it smokes for ya!

Gray, that is a beauty, incredible blast on that puppy. I have never owned a Radice that did not smoke cool and dry, I am sure yours will also. Congrats on a fine addition to your collection.

Grats on the new pipe. She's a beauty.

Chelsea Morning is a really good tobacco. You can pull lots of different flavors out of it. Enjoy!

I have not owned a Radice, but that pipe looks very fine.
The draft hole is high up, but from your other picture it looks dead center at the bottom of the bowl.
Does this Radice have an acrylic stem?
Congrats on a totally great haul.

Smoked 2 bowls in it so far, and it is a great pipe. Smokes very cool and dry for a long time! Lighting is a little different with the jagged rim.
Allan, yes it is an acrylic stem, and yes the hole is right at the botton of the bowl.
It has smoked great so far, and I cant wait to break it in more!
