Here's my first Stanwell. It seems to be an old one from what I can gather. Nomenclature says Regd no De Luxe 899. No crown over the S.

Smoking some Capstan Gold in it as I type this. Smokes real well!

That certainly is sharp! I’ve been on a real Stanwell kick as of late.

It's the smallest pipe I own atm. It's nice how quickly it cools down. Packed it and smoked it three times back to back yesterday, after that it started to get quite moist. Good to know its limits I reckon. Only did virginias; Capstan Gold Flake, Dunhill Ye Olde Signe, Solani 633, and it was a very crisp flavour in a way, sharp and detailed. Not sure if I want to "soil" it with latakias or keep it dedicated to virginias.

One thing I found though is that it is quite asymmetrical, the bowl is bulging a bit on one side. Is this normal for older Stanwells?
