Put me down as a paper towel advocate too!
I like paper towels. I use them to not only remove some moisture, but I find that it smoothes out the cake and it does become rock hard. Of course I like a thin cake as opposed to thick one. (dime v nickel thickness)

I use the paper towels if the bowl seems to be gunked up a bit and usually use them only when the bowl is warm. It helps in the smoothing.
That's my inflation adjusted 3 cents worth.

I do the stem cleaning usually but I've not seen a need to deep clean my rotators more than once a year if that.

sometimes I fold a pipe cleaner over to assist in the reaming, followed by a pocket knife if it didn't come out to suit me LOL.

I am sure it is not that they are better class, and more that I am just lucky!! haha :)
Lawrence and I have the same stance on using paper towels. I use one almost after every smoke!
