I am working on a KB&B Good Night Pipe, a table pipe the company put out in the late 1920s. The pictures show the mouth piece from the hose that goes into the pipe. Hopefully you can see in the pictures just how small the button is. The teeth chatter I need to remove goes right up to the edge of the button. Am a bit concerned that going through all the different grades of my micro pads I would have enough oops moments to wear it down further. Suggestions? Besides not having oops moments.

Note to anyone following this thread:

Some chatter is from compression and will "re-inflate" just fine.

Other times it's from material removal (really sharp teeth, I suppose), and will NOT re-inflate.

Meaning, don't go too long and/or decide to raise the heat level if the roughness seems stubborn. Bad Things will happen.
