I don't think I ever smoked the 1995 offering but I have smoked many tins of other McClelland Virginias from that year. You will not be disappointed in my opinion. As for the best? Nutcracker Flake which was tinned in 1993 or 94 was the best of McClelland's Virginia Flakes ever. I always considered it a part of the Christmas Cheer series.

McClelland Christmas Cheer tops the list of my favorite tobacco's ever. I have never had the 1995 offering, but I suspect if you have some, all that age should make it spectacular!

Also never had the '95, but through generous member clickklick I had the great pleasure of smoking through about 5 bowls of the '92. It had such deep, pure VA flavor with a beautiful almost rose-like essence riding over the top. It was unlike anything I've ever had before. I would spend a pretty penny for a tin if it ever presented itself.

Smoke 'em if you've got 'em. They don't last forever and yes that includes Virginias, the early 90's, late 80's stuff is hitting the limit. The older stuff that people are shelling out $$$ for is a real crap shoot. Most of it has faded.

It was my first go at the '92 so I can't compare. If it is fading I can only imagine how mind blowing it might have been 5 years ago. Anyone had the '94 ?

Conventional wisdom, from everything I've read, is that Virginias don't top out. They age much more slowly after 10 years, but they continue to age and don't decline. But that's just from what I've read, not having smoked such. I have smoked 5 & 10 year old, and only one, F&T Vintage from 2003, hasn't been magic. But again, I don't claim any authority on the subject.

Never had the 95, But I've had 2001, 2013, and 2014 and are all very good. I would say there is something very special about that 2001...is it that blend or the age....I don't know but it was very good. I save it for special occasions, and have a lot left.
