Well, Jaybird,...."smoking" "non-smoking" sections weren't an option. I remember as youngsters none of us even noticed the smoke and certainly never complained about it.
Kinda like central air-conditioning.

Most of us couldn't imagine suffering through a hot steamy summer night without one. Back then we didn't even know what one was....we slept just fine.
:D Trust me,....you could stand non-stop cigs.....as easy we did.
P.S. Don't get me wrong,....I've become quite used to not having to put up with the stink over the last 20 years and would be the first one to bitch about having to smell one. :mrgreen:

My post was based on our current situation.
I'm told the smoking area for the library I work in use to be an area in the children's room.
