...and on the subject of the shotgun- after examining again, it's actually "T.Parker" which means it's definitely Belgian from after the Civil War. These were labeled T Parker, T Barker and several other variations- all basically a knockoff on the Parker name. Apparently, these were sold by the thousands back in the day. Today they make dandy wall hangers...
Nope- my mother's family has been in the area for generations...I spent a summer working at my uncle's chicken farm when I was 13...Nothing like the smell of 5,000 chickens at 5:00 in the morning....Are you an Oxford native?
