What a fantastic thread! I got a kick out of reading about the tour and seeing the pics.
I tried my first Sutliff blend the other night, No. 5, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'll be adding a couple tins to my December order for sure.

Say, are you a journalist? Enviable post, really an article. I'm a fan of Sutliff, Molto Dolce a standard on my admittedly modest collection of tobacco, but the aroma is intoxicating.

Great report on the visit, and even better pictures, Jim! Thank you. And yes, I can concur that Paul Creasy, et al, are not corporate glad-handers--they're actually pipe people, genuine and truly enthusiastic about the business.

Sparrowhawk: I am a professional writer and an artist. Thank you for the compliment.
Romeowood, Phred, and Beezer: Thank you for the kind words. M'lady said I was happier that day than she's seen in a while. The guys at Sutliff said I was like a kid in a candy store, and considering they gave me a lot of that candy, who am I to disagree? Those folks are really good, regular people, and really care about our hobby and their jobs.
