Inside Track on Estate Sale Pipe Collection

I work at a local college running the print center and campus post office, one of it's employees here on campus I am friendly with asked me to make them some "ESTATE SALE" signs. So, the first thing I ask is "are there any pipes for sale?"

So, she responds that yes there are and they were her FIL's collection. I proceeded to talk a bit about my own pipe smoking and the collection side of it. So, i asked if I could have first chance to buy some of it or the whole lot. She had to ask her husband, but was sure he would, since he wanted it to go to someone who appreciated it.

I am waiting for her call.....anxiously!

Bad news.....her husband is unwilling to part with them at the moment. I understand this, but what a heart break!

As long as they get smoked..... Be a bummer if you didn't get a chance at them and they go unused.

He is not a smoker himself (per his wife), I guess there is still much attachment at this time.
