What was your first clue? All that I can tell you is that it is an original Borup, DK production pipe, not an STG (current production) pipe.
Banking information is also appreciated.Welcome from another Illini. There is an intro thread where you write a bit about what you like to smoke, in what, and where you live.
“Made in Denmark” stamp
Later ones are made in Italy after Stanwell closed the Borup factory
Only in regards to the finish, which is usually a partial sandblast and a dark reddish stain. I believe the 'antique' finish was a precursor to the 'Vario' line of pipes, as they share some of the same characteristics. Thanks for all the responses. This pipe also has the word antique between the Stanwell name and made in Denmark. Does that have any meaning?
Thank you.Only in regards to the finish, which is usually a partial sandblast and a dark reddish stain. I believe the 'antique' finish was a precursor to the 'Vario' line of pipes, as they share some of the same characteristics.
This would put the 'antique' line as existing in the 1970's-1980's, as the 'Vario' line was produced in the early '90's.
Hope that helps.
