Seen a lot of gigs over the years from Eric Clapton, The Who and Bob Dylan all playing live in Hyde Park, London to Oasis and other much smaller indie bands in smaller intimate venues but one i would have loved to have seen was Pink Floyd - The Wall. Massive stadium gigs with huuuuuge sets
Went to see Roger Waters doing the whole Dark Side of the Moon album non stop, a couple of years back and that was epic!

the Doors, second would be Bon Scott era AC/DC. For awhile there I saw alot of acts that had their singer die with in a year or so after seeing them. Nirvana, Blind Melon, Jeff Buckley and Inxs.

I would pretty much give anything to have seen the early 1970's Miles fusion bands, or (even better) the Sly & The Family Stone late 60's shows that got him to try that stuff in the first place. The thought of Miles Davis watching Sly Stone and everything "clicking" is pretty amazing to think about.
I definitely would love to see early (69, 70, etc) Zeppelin when Bonham was an absolute beast and Plant's voice was in top form. Everyone in that band was at a level we'll rarely see again. Floyd in the early 70's would be cool but if they were playing in adjacent clubs I'd easily choose Zeppelin. As for other classic rock, I would have loved to see the Clash shows at Bond's Casino (I was 14 and stranded in another part of the country and could only dream of it, but now it's all over YouTube so things do come full circle).
Longshot: my very first show was Black Flag in 1983. I had absolutely no business being in there at that age. I was an impressionable young man. In "Get In The Van", Rollins says "I don't remember anything" about the show I was at. It was his first week with the band.
Tommy: that's quite a story, but at least you got close enough to tell it!

Black Flag. Alright man, that would have been really cool.
Bootlegbonvivant, I'm glad you enjoyed Type O. I sure wish I would have gone several times when I had the chance. Also, I'm sure the Queensryche show was exceptional. Geoff has a great voicew.

I'd love to have been there for some of Mozart's operas with him conducting...ah, Salzburg.

But if there were only one chance, for anyone, it would have to be Emmylou Harris around 1969--before she met Gram Parsons. She'd have fallen in love with me instead...I'm sure of it.
(How the heck do I embed a video?? )

I would have to say Bob Seeger and the Silver Bullet Band, in the late 70's he was at his prime, never forget that show. Tracy Chapman Live in Wembley that was awesome 80's era, Bruce Spingsteen The River tour, almost 5 hours live.....

Wow, so hard to choose; I mean, there are so many damn good artists I'll never get the chance to see...
Guess the top of my list would have to be Jimi Hendrix at Monterey, although SRV is a close second. Mind you, I would love to have seen Randy Rhoads...Pink Floyd...Zepplin...another chance to see Dime rock...another chance to see Nirvana...the origial Cannibal Corpse lineup...I dunno - can't make this call.
I've seen far too many bands to list, so for musical cred, I've jammed with Colin James and Paul Rodgers, opened for Matt Good at the Coquitlam Rec Center, and played in several highschool battle of the bands against Canada's answer to mediocrity, Nickleback.

Wish I had the opportunity to see Joy Division in 1979. I was young, just starting to take notice of that stuff, and all of a sudden they were gone. They were going to tour the US and I would have seen them had it happened. I can only imagine how amazing that would have been to see.
I did have a chance to see Run-DMC, The Fat Boys, Whodini, and a very young Beastie Boys at the (old) Chicago Stadium, but didn't go. I think I was scared of getting my ass kicked.

Jimi Hendrix. Just him. Maaaybe Led Zeplin, but while Jimmy Page is still around I'm happy. Ooor maybe Miles Davis before the massive heroin habit. And Sonny Rollins before the massive heroin habit. I sense a trend amidst jazz players >_>

Glenn Miller and His Orchestra circa 1941 at the Cafe Rouge of the Hotel Pennsylvania, NYC (call Pennsylvania 6-5000!) (Or at Glen Island Casino or the Steel Pier, for that matter. :D ) Vocals by Tex Beneke, Marion Hutton, Ray Eberle, and the Modernaires!
In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Serenade in Blue, Jukebox Saturday Night, etc., etc.!
Ohh, the humanity!!! My feet are jumping around already! :D

Ohohoh, and System Of A Down around the Toxicity phase, when the heroin addiction helped. And LOG around the Killadelphia stage. And quite a few others, now I come to think about it.

Queensryche was very theatrical and fun to watch. Great show and sound. For me, this was my first concert. My last was Metallica before they went all nuts about napster. Walked out of that concert with a major contact buzz from the pot smokers and couldn't hear a damn thing for over an hour.

Thats easy. My guitar idol has always been Hendrix. I'm thinking live at Woodstock would be my choice.
