Hi all from lil'ol' New Zealand.
Having trouble finding any info on this stamp on a Bulldog bowl shank, newly acquired in a cache of estate pipes i bought...."RYTS" & "London Made". No other marks anywhere.
Cheers

Awesome, many thanks - that makes a lot of sense as a few of my Barling's are also stamped R.S.Boulton. btw, I did search RYTS extensively via "interweb"....to no avail. Cheers again!

Welcome to the forums Southpipe!

...a few of my Barling's are also stamped R.S.Boulton.
We'd love to see pictures of those!
Sablebrush52 is a renowned Barling collector and scholar, and can fill in any gaps of questions you may have, he's really busy with work I think right now though, but here's some great blasts from the past which are chock-full of great information...

btw

It must be frustrating to be a pipesmoker in NZ,

down there and in Oz too is like ground zero for the tobacco control war and the anti-crowd is winning --- the NATO World Health Organization has a strong foothold and have induced some very strict policies, probably amongst the most restrictive in the world, and I know that pipeweed is through the roof on the $$$ --- prohibition never really works, yet the noble eggheads enjoy the feelgood effects of spreading their angelwings and saving the children...
Also,

Tolkien smoked Capstan Medium,

you may like to try it ifya can find it?

...forgot to add,

NZ has always had a great music scene, in particular some wonderful noise/drone stuff,

and I rank the Tall Dwarfs solidly in my Top Ten rock bands of all time.

Awesome info, many thanks lcm !
.....I'll put together a pic of my collection so far - most of my Dunhill's and Barling's are missing stems unfortunately, however I'm capable of making replacements from blanks as I'm a jeweller by trade and pretty handy at that sort of stuff, so at least I can try them.....(still hoping the seller is able to find the stems one day though!).
I was extensively involved in Lord of the Rings and Hobbit (as well as Avatar, King Kong, Narnia etc...) so many thanks for the Tolkien invoice pic - awesome! I knew he liked his pipes and now know what he smoked. Nice. May make an Aragorn Churchwarden for myself someday ;-) Will let you all know if I turn out any good artisan pipes as my jewellery workshop is fully capable of some fine work!
p.s. you're right about NZ/Aus....it's a nightmare here - any retailers selling tobacco products are not even allowed to talk about it to you or even show you a list to choose from.....you must walk in, ask for what you want, pay $80 for 50grams and leave with a plain brown paper bag over the product. Ludicrous!! Makes me feel like a drug deal has gone down.
