So I was watching a show on the travel channel about a perique infuse alcohol. They were pronouncing it 'pear eek'. I've always been under the impression it was said ' per Q'. This is what happens when I don't have other pipe smokers to talk to.
"How to Say Perique?"
Since this tobacco grows only in Saint James Parrish, Louisiana I would be interested to know how tbradsim1 or NOLA Cajun pronounces it.
Now that that is settled, everyone say... Pa-kawn for pecan, and not Pee-can, which grosses me out. I do not want a pie made from a can of piss. It too is a derivative of French.
French , that is Cajun French pronounce Tobbaco Du Ta Ba, we don't put inflection on pear more on paureek, I can say it Folks but it's hard to make you hear the inflection. Sorry I am not a learned man, but French was my first language.
