Rob, yes - in this regard I agree with you. Clearly they draw undue attention to pipe tobacco and give the crusaders a "loop hole" to close. Sadly, however, such a situation leads to the "divided" dynamic I described above. As we fight amongst each other for scraps from Washington's table, we all lose. I'm of the opinion that all of those who choose to enjoy tobacco should present a united front rather than weaken ourselves through tribalism.

Last time I was in the states I noticed a few "bagged" bulk "pipe" tobaccos that were essentially cigarette tobacco. I wonder in the long term could these hurt the pipe smoker community with respect to FDA regulations ?
