Depends a lot on what blend, strength etc. 9 x 50g tins to the pound, 90 tins total, I usually stretch out a tin to 10 days, so 900 days smoking every day under daily stress.....almost 3 years.

BUT

If I had to smoke the same blend every day even for 3 months, I would probably start rolling cigs with it or quit smoking altogether.

It depends on the blend as many have said, also depends on the pipe and its draw. Some pipes I like to smoke more often and would have 4-5 bowls a day but others I would only have 2-3 bowls a day. Also there are my big bowl pipes that would fit two average bowls in one. Also sometimes, mood depending I will smoke a whole bowl in a session where other times I will let it go out and smoke a bowl in two sessions, but if we averaged it out over a month I could easily smoke about 3 tins so I guess long answer short, I'm guessing between 1-2 years maybe.

Using Peck's math 10 lbs should last me around 1 1/2 years. I just hit 100 pounds cellared so I definitely need to stop buying more tobacco. My cellar is going to outlast me. 8)

I'm a pretty moderate smoker, so I'd estimate about six years. I hope it would be an exciting

variety of blends and not all one blend. Make mine mostly non-aromatics please. I think I may

have about five pounds on hand, maybe a bit less.

I have to share my tobacco with my grand mother who when she ain't smoking it, often chews it.
She can smoke a fat pound a week, and chew and spit another pound.

About 7 years for me, maybe longer. I also agree when my life scgedule changes I could see me smoking my pipe more.

My math is a little different from Peck's assumptions.
I like larger bowls, so I use an average of 4 grams per bowl. When I can smoke regularly I think I average two bowls a day. But because of weather and only smoking outside, I only smoke about 200 days a year. So that's 800 grams/year. 10 pounds is 4536 grams, so 10 pounds is about 5 1/2 years. I've got 17 pounds cellared plus about 3 pounds in "open" tobacco in mason jars. So I'm hoping 20 pounds is easily 10 years.
My goal now is to buy 2 tins for every one tin I smoke and eventually I will only be smoking tobacco that's been aged at least 10 years.

Atta boy Warren! Wish I could clench a pipe all day, but I'm a wet smoker and after a few minutes need to wipe things dry. 8) bummer
