I must be doing something wrong. The CA glue is seeping up the pipe cleaner. I better review the write ups again...
I make a small "dam" out of heavy paper- cereal box etc to fit inside the slot funnel and cover it with scotch tape. The glue will not stick to the tape. The dam must fit tightly against the the area where the hole is so you may need to double up the paper or wedge something behind it. Don't try to fill the hole in one application, build it up in thin layers until it is above the surface of the stem and then work it back down feathering it to blend it in.

Well I first tried the paper and scotch tape dam with black super glue and it looked good at first; but the hole kept opening up. I finally noticed the glue wicking up the pipe cleaner and barely got it out in time.

After that I used dutch's charcoal trick and that worked great

I filed it down and it looked very promising

However once I finished with the micro mesh I could see a crack line

I wonder if I can now use the black CA to flow in the cracks? I don't want to make things worse.
