If it is a brand with little cachet, you might be doing the work for very little returnThanks guys for the help! Getting into pipe restoration and doing this with bonsai trees for hobby and additional income....
Agreed. Maybe if I can get each pipe for $5-7 per and sell for 10ish+ then there is some profit to it. That being said my heart skipped a beat when i found 2 dunhill shell briars in a bundle i got for $100ish. Brandings are faint but clear. Excited (and nervous as hell) to clean those up and post.If it is a brand with little cachet, you might be doing the work for very little return
Different if you can find a Dunhill for $50 and flip it for $250.
But that's rare as a lot of buyers know their brands and a bargain if they see one.
Looking at the dunhills i got, one is quite rough and another is in better condition. Any recommendations on cleaning/buffing? Both are rusticated and I just finished a clean up of a medico rusticated for a test run and the grooves seem cloudy/dull (maybe too much carnauba?... looked the same after alcohol wipe down too though and murphey's scrub)...Agreed.
