And here I have a box with George - a crown - Elizabeth, Coronation Briar on the lid.
Inside an unsmoked pipe : BWL in circles over Coronation. A Crown in the black stem. Also made in Leeds, England. Shape 3W ( Midium billiard)
I wonder if they had yellow stems in 1952 unless amber.
The dublin looking pipe above have shape 713 by BBB.
Every GBD smoker should have a copy of J.W. Coles
" The GBD St. Claude Story"
Many thanks. If you have a copy of the book you recommend could you possibly give me the ISBN number which will make it easy to get hold of? I you don’t - not to worry - I’m sure I can track it down.

Snag, no pics. I asked my wife how much a mobile would cost. I would rather buy a pipe for that money
and live in peace.

The rondell doesn't necessarily mean pre-Cadogon. I've encountered pipes with the round COM and a rondell, and refer to them as early Cadogan era pipes.

I believe you describe your pipe's COM as below, which is post 1981. This example, a shape 5 did have the brass rondell.

Also muddying the water, GBD's produced in the late 1990's to early 2000's also used a brass rondell and went back to the straight line "London, England" COM. These pipes often had brass accents, like the aforementioned Garland.

I have a copy of the JW Cole book, "The GBD St Claude Story". These are very hard to find and usually pricey (over $50). I found this reasonably priced copy at an English book reseller's site and a forum member who lived in England bought it for me and shipped it to the US (member "Klause"). Unfortunately, it only contains the information on the business side of GBD and almost no references to pipe making, pipes, etc. It has little value to a GBD pipe collector (really only as a curiousity).
