Is there such a thing as a fake meerschaum. I bought a new one on e-bay recently and it seems heavier than a briar. Meerschaums have always been very light from what I have seen. Also I have smoked it for awhile now it has hardly colored at all.

It's probably just an inferior quality block or possibly pressed.
I think even the Chinese ain't got any fake meer. Yet.

I guess it's pressed. I have several meerschaums and it smoked the same breaking in. It doesn't have any brand and was fairly cheap {$30} for a meer.
