He had a great run. I just remember every guitar player in school carefully memorizing how to play the Eruption guitar solo as a stepping stone to a perceived mastery level, just after Stairway to Heaven. I imagine millions of retail staff in music stores across the country have gotten their fill of those two things over the years.

With appreciation for the guy's musical power, I just hope he had as much fun as he seemed to be having casting his spell. He looked like he was having a blast.

I read her release (Valerie Bertinelli) and she was at his side with his current wife, when he passed.
