Dunhill-No Date Code

Here's another vintage Dunhill question. I'm picking up another vintage Dunhill shell which is in good shape except that it doesn't have a date code. Apparently it never had one because even with a loupe there is no evidence of a date and the stampings are still decent. Another oddity is that the '....AND' is ENGLAND is oddly stamped with a downward angle. See the photo so you know what I mean. I don't have the pipe yet and the gent I'm buying it from can't do phone images very good.
Any help again would be appreciated.

Without an actual picture of the pipe, I can't comment about the AND in ENGLAND. I just wish I had a Dunhill for every time I've had to answer this question!
