I have always wondered if pipes, such as the horn shape and the cutty, and

others that are clearly angled, burn out because the fire is unevenly distributed.

Most pipes are smoked at an angle anyway, because we don't hold them

perpendicular to the ground/floor at all times, but they are probably moved

around in a somewhat even way. But I have always wondered if an angled

bowl would tend to burn up the front or back of the bowl because of uneven

heat. Does anyone have a horn that they have smoked for years, or has anyone

seen a horn that has been smoked for years that might prove or disprove this

idea. Just intrigued by the physics of the thing -- simple but perplexing.
