EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9)

I recently acquired some older pipes, some as early as 1947 and forward. This one I have not been able to get a handle on for identification. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for looking.

Looks like it might be fairly new. Also, it looks to be made of oak or "rosewood" or some other alternative wood, rather than briar. I'm wondering if it isn't one of those fairly inexpensive Asian pipes made of what they call "rosewood," whatever species that actually is. So I'm wondering if the mark isn't in some Asian language (if those are Roman characters, I can't make them out).

This one looks similar. The seller's pipes appear to have the same mark, as well. No idea how long they've been making these.
