Cutting Plugs

Regular pocket knife on a bamboo board. I slice, then cube cut....

Since plug is only a fraction of my pipe smoking, I don't want to devote space to a plug cutter, though they are gorgeous to behold. So I just use a folding knife, but recommend carbon steel blades for holding an edge for this purpose. They darken, stain, and don't look as pretty as stainless steel, but they are usually superior knives.

For those plug n cake only smokers, with plenty of room, why not find a meat slicer.... Saw one today in a little restaurant where we had lunch and it was gleaming!

A sharp pocket knife and if available, scissors to cube cut. Slice, cut, repeat. ::

Clean poultry shears or medic scissors to cut and then I run it through an herb grinder.
