Way back in the late 1960's and early 1970's someone somewhere made some of the most beautiful pipes I can remember seeing. They were stamped "CHP-X"and were all freehand pipes and rather high dollar for that time.Question is,anyone ever run across any of these pipes? The tenure was fairly short and evidently the company or carver went out of business.Surely they would all be estate pipes now.

The "tamer" ones show up on ebay fairly regularly and usually sell for $50-$100. The more exotic ones are scarce and bring much higher prices.

I was fortunate to work at jay's Smoke Shop in Baltimore when Mike Kabik was the repairman and was privy to the telling of the evolution of Chip-X pipes into Sven Lar etc. Mike has always been a phenominal pipemaker and fantastic individual.
