I will say that I was at Bennington's Tobacconist in Boca Raton last week and his wall of pipes was really sparce - he said he's getting constant people coming in and buying pipes and they were the 20-30 range of age so his feeling was that we're in an up-swing.

It's the imagery of this piece that makes me blow smoke rings ... Like: " It was a world of wise, contemplative men who sat and smoked and read serious, leather-bound literature, as well as a world of rugged outdoorsmen, canoeists and fly fishermen and clipper ship captains who puffed their pipes as they pored over nautical charts before sailing 'round the Horn". Like the title sequence of an epic Lawrence of Arabia movie ...

Very enjoyable read. I wish the wife would let me smoke in front of the fireplace with the dog at my feet. Alas, no smoking in the house.
