Black Chunk in my IO

As I was taking some tobacco out of my tin of Irish Oak I came across a quarter-size hard black chunk of unmixed tobacco. Is this straight Perique? Should I rub it out and try smoking it straight?

Most people don't enjoy Perique neat. I'd rub it out and mix it into the blend. Maybe that's just me.

Hard to say what it is other than it may be a lump of pressed tobacco; but as I. Oak doesn't contain such, but admitting that I haven't smoked it, it maybe some lump that didn't get processed.
