Beattie Jet Lighter Hysteria

I purchased a Beattie three years ago NOS with all accessories, box, and paperwork for $77. It's become my all time favorite lighter but outside of interesting engineering, it's only as functionally useful as a Zippo. If you can get one for under $100 they make a fine addition to any lighter collection but what I'm seeing on ebay is ridiculous.

It came with all the box papers and cleaner wire included but was slightly used.
I managed to scorch the rim of my pipe the first time I used it due to lack of care.

I bought mine a few years ago, I think I may have paid around $12 for it. Might be time to sell it.

Haha, I have two and call them each Godzilla! A couple of pipe rims were Tokyo - fool me twice! A little learning curve for me.

I think they are fun to use and fiddle with because there are interesting but generally grab something else first - won’t sell them, never know when Mothra might show up.

It builds pressure from the heat of the lit wick and when tipped it forces fluid from the jet tube.

I did sort of want one but didn't buy when they were cheap. Now they've gone nuts in price (like some other brands I won't name) I doubt I'll own one. And that's just fine with me.

I bought two a couple years ago for probably $40-$50/ea.

They work well, but you kinda have to get the hang of using them. Great for pipes with deeper chambers. Requires refilling every several days or so. I use mine quite often.

I notice a lot of times they are advertised a being 1930’s manufactured and/or military issue, which is completely false. But it suckers in the unaware.
