Can't Leave
“Stewart’s writing process involved smelling everything from beer to dirt to perfume to rows of different kinds of vinegar. Surprisingly, the one smell she never grew tired of was pipe tobacco. It’s something smokers consider too; when picking out a type of tobacco, they consider the tin note (how it smells when the container is opened) and the room note (how it smells when it’s smoked.)”

Read all about it here.

It’s been almost a half century, but when I reached college I lived in a coed dormitory where a lot of beautiful young girls from the conservatory of music would practice playing violins and guitars and the piano in the lobby. Sometimes one would sing like a caroling angel.

Every one of those girls liked the smell of a pipe.

It didn’t take long to discover they liked the aroma of Paladin’s Blackcherry the most.

Then I discovered every last one of them wanted to be the next Kitty Wells, and all I had to do was teach them the words and tune to It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.

I’m an old man now, but a young man could still do the same as I did, you know?
