I order French Market coffee w/chickory (red label) online. (Cafe Du Monde is similar, but they don't sell in K-Cups). Chickory root reduces the acidity taste that I don't like about coffee, and gives it almost a faint mocha flavor. I make it New Orleans style, half hot whole milk, half coffee. I heat up half a mug of milk in the microwave for a minute or so, then put the mug under my KCup machine and let it fill with coffee. I've got a Bunn MyCafe, which has a pulse brew option I find gives me the strength I like.

These are all fine selections. I order my coffee from George Howell at terroircoffee.com. George is one of the pioneers in the specialty coffee business and is responsible for upgrading the quality of many small Central American farmers, ensuring they get fair prices for their coffee. He also helped establish the Cup of Excellence marque, awarded to the top single origin coffees each year. Other top producers include Intelligentsia, Counter Culture, Paradise, and quite a few others. Of course, if you're going to make your coffee in a mr. coffee or something like that, you might as well save your money – it's all academic. The best ways include the French press, the Chemex, and the Hario V-60. Try this and you'll have coffee at its absolute peak.
For espresso, i've gotten my best coffees from espressovivace.com, and I make it in a pump handle Olympia Cremina that I've had for 30 years.

Remember, coffee is not a matter of life or death – it's much more important than that.

I've tried CupoJoes, but I honestly can't recommend them for coffee. The two times I ordered pounds from them, the beans were stale upon arrival.

George is one of the giants of Specialty Coffee in North America, and buys, roasts and provides some fantastic coffees. Some of his roasts are on the very mild side, so this should be considered. Here is a list of some fantastic roasters and purveyors of specialty coffees in the USA to compliment the list of Canadian roasters provided above:
Heart Coffee Roasters, Portland - http://www.heartroasters.com/collections/all

Stumptown Coffee, Portland - http://buy.stumptowncoffee.com/

I too have ordered from Black Dog Coffee and was very happy with their sampler. It gave me a lot of tastes I wouldn't normally try. They have a cigar following because of the former online cigar podcast called Dogwatch Cigar Radio. Black Dog coffee was a major supporter of the show. Any cigar nuts out there might want to check out their archives.

If you like a strong coffee you can order Peet's coffee from www.peets.com. Also, many grocery stores carry Peet's coffee and I have been drinking Major Dickinson for many years.
